Who was known as the father of modern chemist? Well if you know it is Robert Boyle. You may know him by Boyle's law that are known as gas laws. He made studies of the calaination of metals, combustion, acid and bases, the nature of colors and the propagation of sound. The atomic therory was an natural philosopher. He is a scientist we won't hopefully forget. Robert Boyle was born in the year of 1627. He was born at Lismore Castle in January 25, 1627. Lismore Castle is now located at the republican of Ireland. He is the youngest of fourteen childen of the wealthiest man in British Isles. His father is Richard Boyle, an adventure who made his fortune in ireland and who, as Lord High Treasure of that country. He was one of the riches and most influential men in Britian. In age twelve his father send him and one of brother on a European tour. From Dieppe they travelled to Paris then to Lyon before reaching Geneva. In Geneva Boyle studied with a private tutor. He know how to speak french, and latin. He learned by his tutor rhetoric and also religon. Galilea work influence Boyle more toward science. Robert Boyle had a career as a writer, but contary to what might be expected from his later publication, his efforts weren't intinially devoted to science. He was a member of an aristogratic and wealthy family. He spended four years at Eton college and from 1638 he studied at Geneva returning to London in 1644. Boyle had many famous experiment while back. He also had help with other scientist. In 1649-1650 Boyle set up a laboratory at his house in Stal Bridge. Boyle studied the relationship between the pressure (p) and the volume (v) of a confined gas held at a constant temperature. Boyle observed that the product of the pressure and volume are obsereved to be nearly constant. The product of pressure and volume is exactly a constant for an ideal gas. One of his famous experiment, he took a U-shape tube with shorter closed end and a longer open end into which he poured mecury thus isloating a given volume of air in the shorten end. When mecury was level both limbs the air was underatomsphere pressure and by adding more mecury to the longer limb the pressure was double. Boyle was assisted by Robert Hooke in various pioneering experiments in which he showed that air was essential for transmions of sound. The last two process exhausted only part of the air. Boyle achived wide fame in the early 1600's though a series of experimental treaties is which he investigated the charateristics of air "corpus culariaism." His first project was his Aretology, a somewhat stilled treatise on a Ethical Elements' intended to lay down the rudiments of morality as a basic for the pursuit of virtue. He worked on the compressibility of air was publish in new experiments Physicomechanical touching the spring of the air and its effects put the famous law stating that the pressure and volume of air are inversely proportional wasn't stated explicity until the second edition. He develope a mechanical corpuslar philosopher of his own derived from the greek tradition and the work of Galileo and Pierre Gassendi. In 1668 Boyle left Oxford for London where his scholarly nature and poor health. He was very much at the center of scientific life as a founder member of the society. Robert Boyle nevered married and when he turn fourty-three he when to live with his sister Katherine Lady Ranelagh. He was a shy man with deep religious convictions. Robert Boyle died in London on December 30, 1691. He was buried in the Church of Saint-Martin-in-the-fields next to his sister. Later the church was demdished and no record was made as to where his remains were moved. Boyle's writing was very clear. His style clear and straight forward. Mostly every work or experiment he would write it down and publish his work so in order to let the people know more how things are connected as which all scientist do. He could of been a career in writing. So how did Boyle got influence to studying the air? How did he started off? What made him thing about the ways of gas? How did Robert Boyle starts making questions and also think about his theory? Did and other scientists had help him on him experiments? Why didn't he married? Where is he now located? His experiments and studies of the work and liberal knowledge affect the world today and will be not forgotten. He has shown and done to show about gas laws. He is highly known as the vocabulary of law of Boyle's law. This couldn't be worst because then we won't create any other machines with out knowing Boyle's law. For instant Boyle's law is mainly about gas laws. We couldn't have made air conditions so that we can stay warm or cool. So with out Boyle's work we wouldn't live in a world like it is now. Imagine a world with out gas machines. It would be very different to find things throught and also keeping warm. Why did I choose Robert Boyle as my reseach paper? I choose him because I wanted to know how gas can be converted and who studied about this. Boyle I know is a man who is good in writing state and scienctist stage. I was also into the air and atmosphere and how it got or how contain or air is in a container and the pressure that is also involde with this. He is a wonderful scientist. He is a chemail achievers. Not all the work of Boyle writing were published. Who is the mighty chemist? He is one scientist that studied the laws of gas. Robert Boyle is a great scientist and I choose him because the laws of gas by Robert Boyle called Boyle's law had influence me to choosen this scientist. ~Bibliography~ http://www.woodrow.org/teachers/chemistry/institues/1992/Boyle.html 5/18/05 http://www.bbk.ac.uk/boyle/biog.html 5/18/05 Partington-SaLisburg The Grolier Library of Science Biographies volume 2, pages use pgs. 28

"The worst illness of our time is that so many people have to suffer from never being loved." Princess Diana was a known celebrity not only because of her unexpected death, but also for the good deeds she served for society. Princess Diana contruibeted to many charties. She engage herself to comfort the sick that led her to take interest in certain illnesses and health-related matters. Even being popular among many women and men by her looks and royality she can be someone who cares that everyone should feel cared and loved. And helping the ill is always a good deed. Not only did she raise millions of dollars for many causes benefiting the sick and the poor, but she also gave of her time and herself. Princess Diana inspired me that everyone should have a helping hand. Everyone should care for the diseased and the sick. Those ill people are not dangerous people, and those who suffer, should be love. Prince Charles' love life had always been the subject of press speculation, and he was linked to numerous glamorous and aristocratic women. When he hit his thirties, he was under increasing pressure to marry. Legally, the only requirement was that he could not marry a Roman Catholic; a member of the Church of England was preferred. In order to gain the approval of his family and their advisers, any potential bride was expected to have a royal or aristocratic background, be a virgin, as well as be Protestant. Diana met these qualifications. The engagement got settled having Diana descented to the throne. In the late 1980s, the marriage of Diana and Charles fell apart, an event at first suppressed, then sensationalised, by the world media. This lead to seperation to actual divorce. After the divorce she took special instrest in travel and music and also worked in the Red Cross. Princess Diana became one of the very first profile people to be pictured touching those afflicted with AIDS. This controversy had a significant impact in changing many people’s opinions and perspective to the disease. Her act was simply a charity. It wasn't one of the traditions royal families had to do. Diana had a very personable touch. She was very at ease in meeting people from any background and even if they were ill or in hospices. The patients would react very favourably to her meetings, they warmed to her life energy and heartfelt sympathy. Part of her appeal was her sympathy and natural compassion. She could empathise with people’s suffering, having suffered much herself. Princess Diana was involved in nearly 100 charities during her life. Through the vigorous fund raising and campaigning, Princess Diana has greatly affected the lives of the patients she has reached out to. Princess Diana shocked the British society when she decided to become a part of the AIDS research. The subject of AIDS was usually shunned by the "great" British society. Princess Diana knew that in order for her to raise money for charty she would take advantage of her priviledge and power. Her personal support is said to have been a significant factor in encouraging Britain and then other countries to support the personal landmines and other charities. Diana's legacy has inspired many other counties to give to charitable causes. At the time of her death, thousands of Americans responded to raise more than two million dollars in charitable gifts. The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund was created as a way of continuing Diana's work in the United States. Some of the charities she contribute on was Landmines & Explosive Remnants of War, Prisoners' Families, Palliative Care. All these charities are for different kinds of people and families. For example the Landmines & Explosive Remnants of Was is to continue the commitment of Diana, champion the issue of landmines, supporting the campaign for a worldwide ban and speaking up for those whose everyday lives are blighted by landmines. Love is a powerful thing. She made me feel we should give back. Diana made me realize that we live in a moment in time where kindness and generosity are essential ethical values in humanity. Treating one another with understanding, compassion and respect are all the more important. Work by journalists, activists and organisations like Princess Diana have helped to make visible countless violations of fundamental human human rights across the globe and opened up avenues for ordinary people to play an active part in transforming social relations. Further, although war is not something new in history, technology in communications have assisted in bringing its devastating impacts close and immediate. I see pictures of innocent people injured, hurt, losing their homes and loved ones, I hear their stories and I feel moved; I feel like I need to do something, it is right that I want to do something. I become more empathy on the other hand, putting myself in the person's position. On August 31,1997, Diana, Princess of Wales died as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris, France. Her companion Dodi Fayed, and the driver of the car, Henri Paul, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Fayed's bodyguard, Trevor Rees-Jones, was the only occupant to survive the crash. For some royalty, many lived a life as a fairytail. Princess Diana had more than a fairy tale, and demonstrate to the world that one can overcome adversity and leave a meaningful legacy. She restored a sense of mission and humanity in a stodgy institution, the monarchy of England. In order to change the 'bad news' I heard, either by the media or through my friends, I seriously question myself on how I can use my own privileges and power.
I wrote a song at the time to remind us all, we need each other

No life is a waste. "What luck for the rulers that men do not think." Adolph Hitler Young men and women go to war. Sometimes because they have to, sometimes because they want to. Always, they feel they are supposed to. This comes from the sad, layered stories of life, which over the centuries have seen courage confused with picking up arms, and cowardice confused with laying them down.
Below are the words of Michael Browning Wars have a way of reducing themselves to moments, single memories, tiny episodes. Here, pictures have a thousand-to-one advantage over words. The camera literally broke the chain of command. Wishes became deeds. Deeds became pictures. These pictures have wrought immense mischief. The acts were terrible, but the pictures are themselves innocent, because pictures seldom lie, no matter how often they are accused of lying. Rather, they expose lies. The camera never apologizes. That is left to us to do. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/content/news/special_reports/war_photos/history.html Lay some thought on this.
We are not rock stars, and we are not movie stars. But are influence is large. We are the little people, and a bunch of littles adds up to one big. One big generation that can, so we must. We are hopeful and we believe we can change the world. We are more than what we own. We own about 50% of the world's wealth which gives us a great responsibility. Ending world hunger is more than Miss America's dream and finding a cure for aids didn't go out of style in the 80's. What if our backyard got a little bigger? We need to live for more, because
