What is a Building Permit?
A Building Permit is a document issued by the Building Official to an owner/applicant to procced with the construction, addition, alteration, renovation, conversion, repair, moving, demolition or other work activity of a specifci project/building structure or portions therof after the accompanying principal plans, specifications and other pertinent documents with the duly notarized application form are found satisfactory and substantially conforming with the National Building Code of the Philippines and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.
PD 1096 sec 209 :EXEMPTION
Public Buildings and traditional Indigenous family dwelling shall be exepmt from payment of building permit fees. the term "traditional Indigenous family dwelling" means a dwelling intended for the use and occupancy by the family of the owner only and constructed of native materials such as bamboo, nipa, logs or lumber, the total cost of which does not exceed fifteen thousand pesos (P 15,000.00).
