Many of us might have watched plays... I mean like the opera, school plays, concerts, etc. Some of those plays, performers wear mask with different facial expressions such as happy, sad, laughing, crying, angry ,mad, etc. Have you ever noticed those??Well, I have.
Hmm...and when I remember things like that, there is one thing that comes into my mind. I believe people wear masks... I admit, I sometime wear masks "figuratively speaking".
Anyway, what I mean is figuratively wearing a mask when you actually have to but don't like to can also mean that you are faking a smile because of some reason that you don't want to show your true feelings. Or maybe you are faking your anger maybe because your just really hurt inside and to prevent it from showing, your using anger as an excuse.
I think that the reason why we do this is just to cover up something/our flaws. Now, let me just tell you that we are all just humans and people commit mistakes. Wearing a mask seems like the solution but it is not. But some of us think it is because it works and frankly I also thought it does but I realized that even if it does, deep inside, your just causing more pain and your just lying to others and yourself.
Why be scared to show what we really feel? God gave us our family and our friends that supports us that we should be thankful for. And besides, if they really are a loving family and caring friends, they would understand you. If you feel like crying..then cry, if you feel like smiling..then smile! Don't be afraid to show your feelings and don't care of what others may think! What's important is that be true to yourself so people will know you for what you are!
